Warner Bros. Discovery has unveiled the first official poster of Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to the 2019 film, which will see Joaquin Phoenix this time joined by the singer and actress Lady Gaga.
The movie poster – directed by Todd Phillips – features the two actors engaging in a dance scene, with the caption «The world is a stage.» Concurrently, the production house has also announced that the first trailer of Joker: Folie à Deux will be presented on April 9th (followed by the Italian version the next day).
There is no official information yet about the plot of Joker: Folie à Deux. It is only known that the cast will include actors such as Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, and Zazie Beetz. It is known that it will be a musical and will likely be largely set in the backdrop of Arkham Asylum, the criminal asylum of Gotham City.
The anticipation for a sequel to Joker is very high, both from the audience and the critics. Released in October 2019, Joker was the first comic book-inspired film to win the Golden Lion for Best Film at Venice and also the first R-rated film to surpass one billion dollars in global box office earnings.
